Rose Haven Heritage Garden In Temecula Celebrating 35th Anniversary, Free Family Events Planned

TEMECULA, CA — Rose Haven Heritage Garden in Temecula will celebrate its 35th anniversary next month with three days of free family activities, educational programming, and cultural performances, organizers announced Monday.

The nonprofit Temecula Valley Rose Society, which owns and manages the 3.6-acre property, will host the celebration Oct. 16–18 at the garden, located at 30592 Jedediah Smith Rd.

The anniversary schedule includes:

• Friday, Oct. 16: A ribbon-cutting and rededication ceremony honoring the garden's 35-year history.
• Saturday, Oct. 17 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.): "Families in the Garden," featuring interactive exhibits, educational demonstrations, artisan vendors, and hands-on activities.
• Sunday, Oct. 18 (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.): "Arts in the Garden," a cultural gathering showcasing performances by local artists, musicians, poets, and dancers.

Admission is free, though donations are accepted. Attendees are encouraged to park at Ynez and Santiago roads, where shuttle service to the garden will be provided. Visitors who pre-register online will receive a free water bottle and tote bag.

Founded in 1991, Rose Haven is a certified wildlife sanctuary and member of the American Public Gardens Association. Home to nearly 2,000 roses, the grounds also feature succulent displays, a produce garden, a labyrinth, a lily pond, and a pavilion available for event rentals.

Unlike municipal parks, the private, 365-day-a-year sanctuary is funded by donations and maintained by volunteers. According to organization figures, the garden draws roughly 15,000 visitors annually and relies on more than 2,000 volunteer hours each year. Its "Tree of Life" produce garden has donated more than 1,200 pounds of fresh vegetables to the Mission Hope Food Bank so far in 2026.
