Temecula Luxury Consignment Store Closes, Leaves Resellers Holding The Bag

Surreal Luxury shuttered in Sept., emptying the showroom floor of thousands of dollars in goods & leaving consignors without money or merch.

TEMECULA, CA — A Temecula luxury consignment boutique abruptly closed in early September, leaving some consignors searching for designer merchandise they say was never returned and payments they say they are still owed.

Surreal Luxury, which operated at 27459 Jefferson Avenue, sold pre-owned luxury merchandise from brands including Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Christian Louboutin.

A person identified by KTLA as a representative of the business said Surreal Luxury was "going through a bankruptcy." Meanwhile, consignors interviewed by the station and others who have posted complaints online say they have struggled to reach the business or recover merchandise and proceeds from items they say were sold.

Some are now considering civil action.

Consignor Michelle Rodriguez told KTLA she had consigned several designer items with Surreal Luxury since February and last spoke with owner Alondra Salcedo (Summerset) in mid-August.

"It feels like a major betrayal, like you've been lied to," Rodriguez told the station.

Rodriguez said Salcedo told her that one of her purses had sold but instructed her not to return to the store until Sept. 20, per the boutique's payment protocol. By then, the boutique had permanently closed.

Rodriguez said she has not received payment or received further details.

All phones to the establishment were shut off, as was any contact with the store's owner, Alondra Salcedo (Summerset).

Patch has spoken with former employees and also emailed the store for further comment.

Aside from emails to consignors, customers can view the sign posted to the empty store window:

"It is with sincere regret that we announce the permanent closure of Surreal Luxury Boutique. Due to the ongoing challenges of the current business environment and the significant decline in sales, we have made the difficult decision to close. We sincerely appreciate everyone who supported our business throughout the years. We are grateful for your trust, support, and understanding through this transition."

Consignors, like Rodriguez, received emails from the business that stated:

"At this time, we ask that you do not contact or harass us personally regarding business matters," the management team wrote. "All communications concerning consignment and other business-related claims will be handled by our legal counsel."

Rodriguez said she was never told the name of the attorney or given any other information.

Why Luxury Retail?

The Surreal Luxury Boutique was the perfect option for reselling high-end items, according to many who trusted her with their items in both Temecula and Oceanside.

The Temecula shop was located in a strip mall at the Winchester Center on Jefferson; it would accept merchandise, display it in a showroom for 90 days, and keep a percentage of sales.

Surreal Luxury Boutique was a perfect option for seller Lisa R., who shared her story on Yelp in late August.

"I consigned two items (a purse and Louis Vuitton sneakers) back in April 2026," Lisa R. wrote. The items did not sell, so after 90 days. When she went to pick them up, her purse was there, but the LV sneakers were not. Then came the runaround, she said. "I have all documentation of my communications with this unprofessional place and I will post it if need be. Should not be this difficult to get my items back."

Other resellers from Banning, Perris, and San Diego reported similar instances in September via Yelp reviews.

On Sept. 9, a seller who gave her name as Shaunta D. wrote that she had received an email saying the store was closing.

Shaunta, who had two pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes on consignment with the current owner, was unable to contact them. She said she reached out to the owner, whom she considered a friend, only to discover she was blocked on Instagram.

"Given everything we shared and the friendship I believed we had, that was extremely disappointing and hurtful," she said. "At this point, I'm not interested in arguing. I simply want my personal property returned."
