TEMECULA, CA — Congressional District 48, which includes much of Temecula, was on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot.
Congressional members represent their local districts at the federal level in Washington. Congressional seats are partisan.
District 48 Rep. Darrell Issa (R) announced earlier this year that he would retire rather than seek reelection. In the runoff to fill the soon-to-be vacant seat were San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond (R) and San Diego City Council Member Marni von Wilpert (D).
