Appointments Open For COVID-19 Vaccine: RivCo Residents 80 And Up
County-operated COVID-19 vaccine clinics are continuing with slots open next week for residents 80 and older.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The number of patients diagnosed with coronavirus being treated in hospitals throughout Riverside County fell further Thursday, while an additional 31 virus-related deaths were reported. Meanwhile, the county is reporting slots are available for residents 80 and older who want to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
The Riverside University Health System said COVID-positive hospitalizations were down to 864, compared to 920 Wednesday. That includes 243 patients in intensive care units, a one-day drop of 13.
Virus-related hospitalizations peaked near 1,700 in the second week of January, officials said.

The total number of coronavirus cases recorded since the public health documentation period began in early March is 279,189, up 1,465 from Wednesday, according to RUHS.
The agency said a total 3,309 deaths stemming from virus-related complications have been recorded, compared to 3,278 reported Wednesday.

According to RUHS, as of Thursday the county had received 240,775 doses of the vaccine with 204,268 doses administered.
