Beloved Restaurant Closes In South Temecula's Vail Ranch Center

TEMECULA, CA — Temecula's Hawaiian restaurant, Da Coconut Cafe, in the Vail Ranch Center, has announced its sudden closure this week, asking customers for their understanding upon arrival to find the doors closed.

The Hawaiian Barbecue and Poke restaurant replaced the former Pizza Factory, which relocated to 31045 Temecula Pkwy, Suite B-101.

The decision to close was "not taken lightly, but we feel it is time for a new chapter."

After a brief closure on Feb. 8, the restaurant owners shared the news on social media with guests, business partners, and family.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Da Coconut Cafe.

"Serving this community and neighboring areas for the past 13 years has been an honor and a pleasure," they said. "We have shared many wonderful moments, meals and conversations, and we are deeply grateful for the support, friendship and loyalty you have shown us."

Over 50 fans wrote in on social media to thank the owners for their delicious food over the years.

The owners of the Te Ori Mana Polynesian Dance Studio shared their thoughts at the closure.

"Many of our dancers work there, and they all experience a sense of sisterhood and brotherhood that resonates with many of us who have moved from Hawai'i. Mahalo for everything you have done for our communities and for Te Ori Mana Polynesian Dance Studio! Aloha & A hui ho!"

It was not immediately clear why the Da Coconut owners decided to close, other than what they mentioned in their letter. Patch has reached out for further information and will add it upon receipt.
