Leonesse Caters to Locals, Not Just Tourist

A reason to visit our local winery, , was a Sunday concert.

I must admit, it is refreshing that a local winery like Leonesse is catering to us local-yocals instead of being fixated on tourists.

I'm for free enterprise, believe me. However, I am for taking care of the home base with the mind set that in return, the home base will take care of you.

Granted, my Pollyanna kicks in on occassion.

There were so many things that we enjoyed about our visit at Leonesse. It was my first time there.

Do you know the feeling when you are somewhere you have not visited before? The hesitatation because you don't quite know the lay of the land. That was me.

Well, as I am hiking up to what I hoped was the entrance, a really nice lady saw my bewilderment and instantly assured me I was headed in the right direction. I exhaled and knew I was in for a fun time.

Shortly upon arrival, I saw our host, Joel Reese. What is it about seeing a familiar face? I'm not sure. What I am sure of is there was a huge sense of feeling welcomed.

Waiting for my friends to arrive, I tasted a little wine. I mean, I'm at a winery, for gosh sakes.

We were picked up by a limo golf cart and transported to what was likened to a barrel room.

Then, we went outside and enjoyed the sights and sounds of light banter with a backdrop of music played by both our host, Joel Reese, and his special guest, Bradley Leighton. You can see his website by clicking here.

It was such a cool and friendly group of attendees sharing this fun and sacred space. An amazing moment in time.

Full disclosure, my new obsession is port and these darned addicting chocolate truffles. Major yum.
