Man Arrested After Breaking Into Temecula Parkway Business: Cops

Southwest Sheriff's Station deputies found the Oxnard man & stolen items within minutes of the break-in, RivCo Sheriff's Department says.

TEMECULA, CA — Riverside County Sheriff's Department Southwest Station deputies found and arrested a fleeing man within minutes of a burglary alarm sounding early Sunday, deputies reported.

Michael Terry Washington, 38, of Oxnard, was charged with felony burglary in the second degree and later released from the Southwest Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.

It was just after 1:15 a.m. that an alarm alerted deputies to a burglary in progress at a business near Jedediah Smith Road and Temecula Parkway, according to Sgt. Joe Narciso of the Southwest Sheriff's Station.

Deputies arrived within two minutes of the alarm sounding and located a man running from the business, according to reports. They chased the man, later identified as Washington, and arrested him without incident.

Officers recovered all the stolen merchandise, Narciso said.

According to Riverside County Sheriff's Department records, Washington will return to court on August 23.
