Sometimes local foster children arrive at a new home carrying everything they own . . . in a trash bag. With every move, they may leave behind a bedroom, a school, familiar faces, and another piece of what once felt like home.
So much of what they receive has belonged to someone else first. But imagine placing something new into a child’s hands and saying, “This was chosen for you. This belongs to you. And wherever you go, you can take this with you. It’s yours.”
That is the heart behind A Book of Their Own, presented by Scotts Miracle-Gro. It’s The Vine FM’s mission of compassion to give local foster children hope and remind them that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten. A new book can offer adventure, encouragement, and hope. More importantly, it can tell a child, “Someone thought of me. Someone chose this for me.”
