With a career spanning more than four decades, Irving Flores has established himself as one of the most respected voices in contemporary Latin jazz. Born in Mexico and now based in San Diego, he has performed and collaborated with internationally recognized artists including Poncho Sánchez, Airto Moreira, and members of the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, while contributing his talents as a composer, arranger, and educator. 

His acclaimed album Armando Mi Conga represents a powerful tribute to Afro-Cuban jazz traditions, blending intricate rhythms, melodic sophistication, and the improvisational spirit of jazz. The recording features collaborations with legendary musicians including Giovanni Hidalgo, Horacio Hernández, and Brian Lynch, and has received recognition as one of the standout Latin jazz releases of recent years.

August 2026 – TEMECULA, CA – The Nature Education Foundation at the Santa Rosa Plateau is proud to partner with Galway Downs for the 11th Annual Cowboy Jubilee, a signature fundraising event supporting nature education programs for students across Southwest Riverside County.
This year’s “Western and English” themed celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., inside the scenic Equestrian Grand Prix Arena at Galway Downs, surrounded by Temecula Valley’s rolling hills, vineyards, and wineries.
The evening blends the best of Western and English horsemanship traditions highlighting their distinct cultures, values, and riding techniques through music, food, language, and a shared work ethic.
Guests will be welcomed with complimentary champagne and treated to a Texas-style BBQ dinner, freshly prepared and served at the Grand Prix Outdoor Pavilion. The night’s entertainment includes a unique equestrian show with music and history presented by the Los Amigos and Southern California Peruvian Paso Horse Clubs.
Following the equestrian exhibitions, guests will dance the night away and enjoy the live classic country Highwayman Show with Tony Suraci and his eight member-band. 
The evening also features an open bar, a Poker Run, 50/50 raffle, and exclusive live auctions. 
Tickets must be purchased online in advance; no gate sales will be available.

MURRIETA, Calif. — September 2026 — Teachers, environmental educators and providers of outdoor and nature-based education programs are invited to spread their wings at “For the Birds!”, the Nature Education Foundation’s 2026 Nature Education Resource Forum (NERF), on Saturday, September 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve in Murrieta.
Designed as a day to connect, learn and inspire outdoors, the annual Nature Education Resource Forum brings together educators and organizations interested in giving young people meaningful opportunities to learn about the natural world.
This year’s bird-themed program will feature a special keynote presentation by Friends of Big Bear Valley (FOBBV), the nonprofit organization known for the popular live Bald Eagle nest cameras in Big Bear Valley and its work in eagle protection, advocacy and education. Participants will hear the latest about Shadow and the Big Bear Valley Bald Eagles following the loss of his longtime mate, Jackie, while learning how wildlife observation and technology can help engage students in conservation and environmental education.
Throughout the day, educators will participate in workshops and activities that provide ideas they can take directly back to their students and programs. Topics will include bird education and habitat, regulations surrounding the collection of bird feathers and natural materials, classroom nature-study resources, citizen science and outdoor field experiences.
The forum will conclude by taking learning into the field at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve, where participants will have an opportunity to explore bird habitat and observe some of the many resident and migratory bird species found on the Plateau. Binoculars will be provided for the field experience.
“For the Birds!” is intended for teachers, outdoor educators, nature and environmental education providers, and others who work to connect young people with the natural world.
The event is hosted by the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District. Support is provided by Frontwave Credit Union and Owen &amp; Virginia Hyde, with special thanks to Friends of Big Bear Valley.
