Chaparral Junior Plays Piano for Seniors
Kristiana Kim helped form a group that puts on piano concerts for senior citizens.
Chaparral High School dynamo Kristiana Kim is striving to be the best she can be and it shows.
Not only has she achieved great academic success, she contributes to the community by sharing her stellar piano playing ability. Kim and her friends started a group called ‘GLAD’ that puts on musical concerts for senior citizens at Fountain Glen at Temecula. The group has put on two shows this year, including a Christmas concert.
“I organized the group for fun and we enjoy singing and performing,” Kim explained.

Kim has been taking piano lessons since the age of 5. This will be her 10th and final year performing at The Piano Guild. Every year, Kim performs 10 songs in front of a judge. This final year, she will perform for an hour and if she passes, she will receive a degree from the guild. She also tickles the ivories at church regularly.
In addition to her piano playing, Kim also plays on the tennis team at Chaparral, rock climbs, has tutored at the library, all the while taking AP classes and maintaining a 4.38 GPA.
