TEMECULA, CA — The City of Temecula is currently accepting applications for its new Flags of Honor program celebrating the service and contributions of U.S. military veterans.
In observance of Memorial Day, the city is inviting residents to sponsor a flag in honor of veterans who lost their lives in service, or in remembrance of veterans who have died.
Through the Flags of Honor program, sponsored American flags will be displayed along the perimeter of the Temecula Duck Pond during Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The Memorial Day flag display will be on view May 18 through June 1, 2026, officials said.

Each sponsored flag costs $30 and includes a personalized dedication card. When the display is over, sponsors can take the flag and dedication card as keepsakes, officials said.
"The new Flags of Honor program is a heartfelt way for our community to come together in remembrance and gratitude. Each flag represents a story of service and sacrifice, and this program allows us to honor those individuals in a deeply personal and visible way," said Mayor Jessica Alexander.
