Coroner IDs Bicyclist Killed In Temecula

The man was hit by a pickup truck in Temecula last week.

TEMECULA, CA – A bicyclist who died last week after being hit by a pickup truck near a busy Temecula intersection has been publicly identified by the coroner's office. Riverside County coroner's officials say John Napolitano died in the deadly wreck. He was 56.

According to coroner's officials, Napolitano died at Inland Valley hospital at 1:45 a.m. Thursday. Officials did not have a city of residence listed for the victim.

Napolitano was hit by a truck while out bicycling at 8:52 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Temecula and Pechanga parkways, according to sheriff's Sgt. William Pratt. The pickup truck was turning right from Temecula Parkway onto Pechanga Parkway when the driver hit the cyclist. The cyclist was taken to the hospital in "grave condition," and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
