Coroner IDs 79-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed Near SW RivCo
The 79-year-old man died at the scene.

ANZA, CA — A motorcyclist who was killed Wednesday in a crash on state Route 371 near Anza has been identified as a Palm Springs resident.
Albert Charles Farrell, 79, died following the crash that was reported around 3 p.m. His body was recovered from down an embankment along the highway, approximately a quarter mile west of state Route 74, on the east end of Anza, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's-Coroner Bureau.
Farrell was riding westbound on SR 371 on a 2012 Harley-Davidson Electra at an unknown speed, wearing a non-DOT approved helmet, according to a California Highway Patrol report. For unknown reasons, he lost control of the bike, went down, and was ejected, according to the CHP.

There were no crash witnesses.
CHP officers shut down both sides of the 371 at intermittently to conduct a preliminary investigation and clear the wreckage.
