Crash On 79 South Blocks Traffic Temporarily, 1 Injured

A crash stalled traffic east of Temecula and West of Anza Road on Highway 79 South/Temecula Parkway.

TEMECULA, CA — Temecula woke to fire engines racing down Temecula Parkway Monday morning to a crash east of town early Monday. Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters rushed to the scene, where one car was blocking Highway 79 west of Anza Road.

Just before 6:30 a.m., two vehicles collided near the 79 South curve. One of the cars was blocking the roadway, and both vehicles suffered moderate damage, according to Cal Fire spokesperson Maggie Cline De La Rosa.

"One patient was transported by ambulance to the hospital with moderate injuries," she told Patch. California Highway Patrol has taken over the crash scene, and no other information was immediately available.
