Cut from 'THE X-FACTOR,' Temecula's Trevor Moran Rebounds

The journey to becoming America's next X-factor ended this week for Temecula's Trevor Moran, but he still has plans to become someone with whom to reckon.

Trevor, 14, was cut Wednesday from "THE X-FACTOR," a reality TV show on FOX. The premise of the show is to find the next vocal star out of hundreds of thousands who audition. Trevor auditioned in June in San Francisco, and survived the initial cut in an episode that aired last week.

This meant he was invited to attend "boot camp" in Miami, Fla., where the contestants were further whittled down.

After performing "Starship" by Nicki Minaj in Wednesday's episode, the judges—Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid—eliminated Trevor from further competition.

Trevor told Patch it was "heartbreaking" to get cut.

The episode filmed in July, so he has had time to recover.

"It is not the end," Trevor said. "It has inspired me to push myself and I am going to find a way to get myself out there."

Nor is it the beginning of his efforts. Trevor—a singer since the age of 2—has had a manager, agent and voice coach for more than a year, and frequently attends auditions in Los Angeles. He has been featured in a Google Chrome commercial for his YouTube channel on which he has garnered more than 85,000 subscribers.

Perhaps his biggest supporters are his parents. Nicole Moran, his mother, said she got choked up when the episode in which Trevor got cut aired Wednesday.

While Trevor's father, Tim, and brother, Blake attended the San Francisco audition and taping, Nicole made the trip to Florida.

"It has been a roller coaster ride," Nicole said. "My emotions have been crazy—up and down. We were really surprised he didn't make it further. It broke my heart to watch it this week, it was hard to relive all this."

But, she said, he is determined to keep going.

"It has been a good experience, it definitely didn't stop him. His dream would be to go on tour."

To his growing group of fans—many here locally—Trevor said: "My Temecula fans are first. I love them."
