Dick's Sporting Goods Opening In Temecula, No Word On Murrieta
The new store is opening next month in the Promenade Temecula mall. The future of the company's Murrieta location has not been confirmed.
TEMECULA, CA — Dick's Sporting Goods is opening a new store in the Promenade Temecula mall next month, while the future of the retailer's Murrieta location has not been confirmed by the company.
The new store will open in the Promenade mall space formerly occupied by Sears. Approximately 10 part-time and 35 temporary positions will be filled for the new 40710 Winchester Road store that will offer athletic and outdoor apparel, footwear and gear, the retailer reported.
New hires will receive "competitive pay" and store discounts, the company said in a news release. More information can be found at dickssportinggoods.jobs.

"Ideal candidates will draw on their personal experiences and in-depth knowledge to guide, inform, equip and inspire our athletes," the news release said.
The Murrieta Dick's Sporting Goods store was continuing business as usual this week. The company has neither confirmed nor denied that its location at 40404 Murrieta Hot Springs Road will stay open long-term.

"We don’t have any more details to share at this time," a company spokesperson said when asked about the Murrieta store's future.
There was no indication at the store level that a closure was imminent.
The publicly traded company is slated to release its 2021 fourth-quarter earnings results next month. In its 2021 third-quarter earnings report, the company's Executive Chairman Ed Stack said, "We believe this will be the most transformational year in our history, and we expect to continue this transformation into 2022. I couldn't be more excited about the future of Dick's Sporting Goods."
Lauren Hobart, president and chief executive officer of the company said at the time, "Our fourth quarter is off to a strong start ... . Looking ahead, we remain very confident in the longer-term prospects of our business."
The company's stock price rose 3.68 percent Thursday to $101.28.
