Dick's Sporting Goods Opens In Temecula; Murrieta Store Closes

TEMECULA, CA — A new Dick's Sporting Goods store in Promenade Temecula mall is set to celebrate its grand opening this weekend with gift cards and a sweepstakes.

The Temecula Dick's will officially open its doors at 9 a.m. Saturday. The celebration will continue through the weekend with a variety of in-store celebrations and giveaways including mystery gift cards to the first 100 adults in line each day (one winner will get a $500 gift card), games and a sweepstakes for a prize pack valued up to $500, according to the company.

The new store is occupying the space formerly leased by Sears. Approximately 10 part-time and 35 temporary positions were being filled for the new 40710 Winchester Road store that will offer athletic and outdoor apparel, footwear and gear, the retailer reported. The new store has been giving customers an inside "preview" since Wednesday.

With the new store opening, the Murrieta Dick's Sporting Goods location at 40404 Murrieta Hot Springs Road has officially closed. A spokesperson for the retailer did not provide details.
