Discovery Isle Students Donate 300 Gifts and Food Items to Families
Students donated gifts and food for local children in need during the holidays
Students at Discovery Isle Preschool in Temecula recently donated gifts to The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, which connects children in need with organizations that donate toys, clothing and other items from the child’s holiday wish list. Over the past few weeks, students and their families collected wish list items to benefit more than 40 local children during the holidays.
In addition to the gift drive, students held a food drive in November, collecting more than 250 nonperishable items to benefit families supported by The Salvation Army who are facing food insecurity. Following both donations, students packaged the items for The Salvation Army to pick up. Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of spreading kindness in their community, especially during the holiday season.
