DUI Checkpoint Coming Up In Temecula
Officers will be checking for proper licensing and impaired drivers as part of multi-day crackdown in southwest Riverside County.
TEMECULA, CA — A DUI/driver license checkpoint is planned for Saturday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m., running through Saturday at 4 a.m., at an undisclosed location in Temecula, according to authorities, who reminded drivers that “DUI doesn’t just mean booze.”
Prescription drugs, particularly those with driving- or operating machinery-warnings on labels, may cause driving impairment, along with marijuana, especially if combined with alcohol or other drugs, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
“Unfortunately, this time of year is when we see more people driving impaired,” Sgt. Raemie Wood said. “There is no excuse for driving after drinking or using drugs that impair. There are many ways to get home safely without driving.”
