DUI Checkpoints Begin Tonight In Southwest Riverside County
Those arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol can spend time in jail and pay up to $13,500.
SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Motorists are reminded there are two DUI checkpoints taking place in Southwest Riverside County this weekend.
The California Highway Patrol Temecula office will operate one Friday starting at 7 p.m. at an undisclosed location in Southwest Riverside County. The operation is expected to last through 2 a.m. Sunday, according to CHP Officer Mike Lassig.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department will also conduct a checkpoint within Lake Elsinore city limits from 9 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday.

At both checkpoints, officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and checking drivers for proper licensing.
Law enforcement is reminding motorists that if you take prescription drugs, particularly those with a driving or operating machinery warning on the label, you might be impaired enough to get a DUI.
