Earthquake Reported East Of Temecula, Murrieta

TEMECULA, CA — A magnitude-3.0 earthquake struck Riverside County, but there were no reports of damage or injuries, authorities said Wednesday morning. The quake originally came in as a 3.3, but was later downgraded to a 3.0.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday east of Temecula. Its exact location was:

  • 5 mi NE of Aguanga
  • 8.7 mi WSW of Anza
  • 9.9 mi NNE of Palomar Observatory
  • 17.4 mi N of Lake Henshaw
  • 28 mi SW of Palm Springs

The quake was centered about three miles below the earth's surface.
