FREE Motown Tribute Concert

The Detroit Underground is coming to Temecula!

The Detroit Underground is the featured band on Thursday, July 28, at the Temecula Summer Sunset Concert Series, held at the outdoor amphitheater at the community center on Rancho Vista Road.

The Detroit Underground is like a tribute band on steroids, with a Motown-inspired and family-friendly song list that includes fan favorites from artists such as The Temptations, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Huey Lewis and the News, Rick James and others. And with both male and female lead vocalists, the variety never stops.

The Detroit Underground, established in 1994, has earned the reputation for being a hard working, high energy show band, nicknamed “the band with a real horn section.”

Over its lifetime, the band has won numerous awards and recognitions. Most recently, for the past two consecutive years it has been selected as one of the region’s best bands in the North County Times/The Californian reader’s choice awards. It also won first place in 2008 (and a $20,000 cash prize) in San Diego’s Ultimate Music Challenge, judged by highly respected music professionals. Over 100 bands applied and 40 competed in the contest.

They perform regularly at high-profile corporate parties and at venues such as Viejas, Valley View and Harrah’s casinos, Humprey’s By The Bay, and Anthropology San Diego.

They always liven up the crowd and keep the dance floor packed.
