'Excessive Heat Watch' Issued For Temecula
Another heat wave is forecast to bear down on the region, with temps expected in the mid- to high 90s for Temecula.
TEMECULA, CA — A high-pressure system moving over Southern California will bring hot temperatures to Temecula starting this weekend, with the mercury approaching the 100-degree mark Monday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The hot weather prompted the NWS to issue an "excessive heat watch" across Southwest Riverside County from 10 a.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The heat watch extends to the valleys of San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

During the watch period, daytime high temperatures are forecast to reach the mid- to upper 90s in Temecula, with overnight lows dipping to around 70 degrees.
"High pressure will become the dominant driver of our weather over the region into early next week," according to the NWS.

During the heat wave, the Coachella Valley and San Gorgonio Pass Area will be under an "excessive heat warning" from 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Tuesday due to dangerously hot conditions with temperatures expected to near 110 degrees.
