Fatal Crash Shuts Down Highway 371 In Anza

One person died and another was injured in the crash involving a car and motorcycle.

ANZA, CA — A man was fatally injured Wednesday in a collision involving a car and motorcycle on Highway 371 at the east end of Anza.

The crash happened about 3 p.m. just east of Burnt Valley Road and less than a mile west of state Route 74, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Several engine crews were sent to the location and found a victim dead and another injured, according to reports from the scene. It was unclear whether the fatally injured victim was the motorcyclist or driver of the car.

The survivor was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment of unspecified injuries.

California Highway Patrol officers shut down both sides of the 371 at 3:35 p.m. to conduct a preliminary investigation and clear the wreckage. The highway was expected to remain closed for at least two hours, the CHP said.
