Fatal I-15 Crash Injures One, Backs Up Traffic For Hours

FALLBROOK, CA — One person was killed and a man was critically injured following a single-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate-15 in Fallbrook early Saturday morning. The crash backed up traffic from Fallbrook to Temecula for hours, according to multiple reports.

The California Highway Patrol closed the southbound lane of the freeway from Rainbow Valley Boulevard to Mission road, the North County Fire Protection District tweeted Sunday morning. The roadway was expected to reopen after 10 a.m.

Caltrans San Diego said vehicles were diverted off the freeway at Rainbow Valley Road and a Sigalert was issued.

"Hard road closure on SB 15 before the Mission Road exit in Fallbrook. Please use an alternate route," the fire agency tweeted.
