Fire Reported Near Old Town Temecula
Fire officials say the blaze broke out at a commercial building.

TEMECULA, CA — A fire broke out Friday afternoon in Old Town Temecula, scorching part of of a commercial building before firefighters got it under control, the Riverside County Fire Department reports.
The blaze was reported at 1:37 p.m. in the 41000 block of 3rd Street, according to agency spokeswoman Tawny Cabral. That's near the Old Town parking garage.
"The first arriving engine company reported nothing showing from the structure and an active audible fire alarm," Cabral said. "Firefighters quickly contained the fire to a single room and will remain on scene performing salvage and overhaul."

A total of 14 firefighters were assigned to the incident, which was deemed controlled within just 11 minutes, according to fire reports.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
