'Forest Gump' Actor Plans Temecula Charity Concert

An actor famous for his role in "Forest Gump" is requesting permits to play a benefit concert in Temecula.
Gary Sinise, who played the role of "Lt. Dan," will ask the Tuesday to cosponsor a performance, tentatively slated for March 1.

The sponsorship would cost $10,865, which includes $3,900 cash and the rest in services, according to a city document. To read the agreement, click here.
The concert's proceeds will go to build a home for Marine Lance Cpl. Juan Dominguez, who lost his legs and right arm in 2010, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Gary Sinise Foundation, along with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, have built several such homes for wounded vets, the Times reported.
Sinise's group, the Lt. Dan Band, is named for his character in "Forest Gump," a soldier who lost his legs in combat.
