The Longest Toast Relay event will start at 9 a.m. in Old Town Temecula at the Main Street entrance and lasts until noon, Visit Temecula says.
The deadline to enter is March 31, be sure to register right away to take part.
The current world record for the longest toast relay to beat? 1,300 participated in that record in Thailand at Siam Square on December 12, 2019.
"The idea behind the attempt was to celebrate the eating of traditional food with Coke," according to the Guinness Book Of World Records website. "Each participant was served an array of local cuisine and a bottle of Coke. During the relay, everyone toasted to this novel idea of celebration."
Visit Temecula has applied to shatter that record, passing the toast across Old Town. Participants need to be over 18-years-old and preregister at the Great Temecula Toast Google form.
Once registered, entrants will be logged into groups. When all is set up, the toasting will commence! A witness will be on hand to ensure the city archives enough "toasters."
All who enter will receive a commemorative glass and lanyard and of course, bragging rights.
According to the visitor's bureau, there has already been "quite a response" to the event, and there is still time to register until March 31.
As a special bonus for living Life Glass Full, the commemorative lanyard may earn you special offers at area businesses throughout the "Live Glass Full" campaign.
Are you in?
"This effort is part of Visit Temecula Valley's Live Glass Full campaign launch," they reported.
