Harley Rider ID'd In Temecula Crash As 32-Year-Old San Diego County Man

The Harley-Davidson rider apparently lost control on Rainbow Canyon Road on Tuesday afternoon and perished at the scene.

TEMECULA, CA — A motorcyclist killed in Temecula on Tuesday afternoon was identified as a 32-year-old Vista man, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau.

Francisco Quintana Salazar was identified as the victim fatally injured just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 44700 block of Rainbow Canyon Road, less than a quarter mile east of Interstate 15, according to the coroner's report.

"Salazar was traveling at an unconfirmed speed on his Harley Davidson when he apparently lost control and crashed into a guardrail, ejecting him onto the side of the road," California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Seel reported.

No other vehicles were involved.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location 20 minutes later and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The two-lane corridor remained open after the crash.

An autopsy was pending on Salazar, officials say.
