HIGH STANDARDS: A Conservative City Rejection – James Stewart
An interview with Temecula Mayor James Stewart about the past, present and future of marijuana in his city.

Troy: Do you think there’s regulation that the state put on when they passed the bill that kind of restricts the revenue? Or do you think that people just aren’t as interested in marijuana. Why do you think the revenues are not elevating…?
Stewart: For one, for quality of product. Because there are a lot… There is product that’s being… chemicals that are banned here in the United States are being used on some of these illegal drugs because there’s no one regulating the drug so they can actually spray whatever chemicals they want and they can, you know.
And so there has been several instances. I remember in LA there was a dispensary that was a shutdown illegal dispensary because they found traces of a pesticide that’s illegal in the United States and a very dangerous pesticide. People are actually getting sick. So, I mean I think from that standpoint it has to be regulated, you know, for quality product.
