The Kansas City Royals got Temecula native Brooks Pounders from the Pittsburgh Pirates in a trade today.
The Pirates traded Pounders and infielder Diego Goris for infielder Yamaico Navarro, 24, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Pounders, 20, finished last season in Class A West Virginia, where he went 5-5 with a 3.68 ERA in 36 games, according to the Post-Gazette.
Goris, 20, played four seasons in the Dominican Summer League, and has a .302 ERA.
Navarro, 24, hit .206 in 42 major league games. He hit .264 with seven home runs and 11 doubles in 59 minor league games between the Red Sox and the Royals' Class AAA teams, according to the report.
