Kennedy's Meat Company Coming To Promenade Temecula Mall
The Escondido meat market is opening on the outskirts of the mall, in the former Bahama Bucks shaved ice location.

TEMECULA, CA — Kennedy’s Meat Company announced it is set to open a new location in Temecula this fall. The popular market, best known in Escondido, will take up residence in the outskirts of the Promenade Temecula Mall, in the space formerly held by Bahama Bucks shaved ice, along Margarita Road.
Bahama Bucks closed in Oct. 2019. Since then, the space has sat waiting for just the right occupant. Kennedy's Meat Company fit that bill, according to the shopping center. Kennedy's is transforming the 1,900-square-foot space to feature its meats and a specialty market.

The original Kennedy’s Market was opened by Jesus Soto in 1972 as a one-stop-shop in the small town of Heber, Calif. What started as a small convenience store soon brought in people from all over Southern California to pick up Soto's “Best in Class Carne Asada," according to the company.

Mark Mendoza, grandson of Soto, is following in the family's footsteps and coming to Temecula.
“Carrying on my grandfather’s legacy has always been of the utmost importance when opening Kennedy’s,” Mendoza said. “My grandfather always valued people the most when they walked through the door. I think folks that have worked with us or visited us can agree that aside from your favorite place to pick up meat, we’ve created a family-like atmosphere. We look forward to creating this ‘Cheers’ effect in Temecula.”
Since the opening of the Escondido Kennedy's Market in 2018, the shop has supplied Southern California with carne asada, pollo asado, Angus prime, Wagyu and Kobe beef, and is most commonly known for its marinades, and dry and wet rubs.
Kennedy’s made local headlines in 2020 after the company gave out over 20,000 pounds of steak and jerky amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
