Let's Make America Honorable Again

Let’s Make America Honorable Again
Our country has never been under more stressful times regarding the decency and moral conduct in the media. I am specifically referring to the past Presidential election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Americans have been bombarded by television, newspapers, radio, facebook, twitter, email, and political conventions for the past year and a half with negative, hateful, political advertising. Our country is divided between the liberal and conservative issues facing our decision this coming term for president elect Donald Trump. Many people are getting sick and tired of the mud slinging between the Democrats and Republicans so all this political madness will stop.

I believe America is a great country and have always respected our belief that America is the best country in the world and has by far the best political system in the world. Our founding fathers would be rolling over in their graves if they could see how our politicians are treating one another with great disrespect.

I have come to the conclusion America has to become honorable again. There was a late night talk show host that had a top 10 list as part of his comedy routine. Here is my list of the top 10 actions people can take to make America honorable again.

  1. Follow the golden rule, treat people how you would like to be treated.
  2. Try not to lie to people, it is a bad habit to get started and causes harm when eventually found out.
  3. Be respectful to everyone you meet in your daily activities.
  4. Be kind to people you meet in your daily life. Do something nice for a senior citizen or buy a homeless person a meal.
  5. Never give up hope things will get better in our great country. We are a great nation and when we act together as a nation nothing is impossible.
  6. Have the courage to do the right thing for our country. In your heart vote for the politician that you feel will do the best job to lead the American people.
  7. Have faith in the Good Lord to guide us through this turbulent time in our Country
  8. Be sincere with family and friends and do your best to respect one another's views that may differ from your views.
  9. Try to be charitable with your time and devote some time to help the less fortunate.
  10. Have the humility to realize that even if your political candidate didn't win the election our country will remain strong. Winning isn't the only thing in life that matters.

Sincerely,
Timothy Swift
