LongHorn Steakhouse Planned At Old Marie Callender's In Temecula
The proposed project would be built at the southwest corner of Rancho California and Ynez roads.

TEMECULA, CA — A development project that would bring a LongHorn Steakhouse to Temecula — in the old Marie Callender's location — is on tap next week for the city's Planning Commission to consider.
Project applicant Nina Raey proposes to build a 5,708-square-foot LongHorn Steakhouse at 29363 Rancho California Road, at the southwest corner of Ynez Road, near the Embassy Suites hotel.
During its Nov. 17 meeting, the Temecula Planning Commission will be tasked with approving a development plan, as well as a conditional use permit that would allow beer, wine and cocktails to be served at the restaurant.

The eatery would feature an outdoor patio and would be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, according to the proposal.
An 8,539 square-foot Marie Callender's Restaurant & Bakery once stood at the spot but permanently shuttered in April 2019. Currently, the 1.51-acre lot is vacant.

Across the street from the proposed development is a Black Angus Steakhouse, 27737 Ynez Road.
LongHorn Steakhouse is a casual-dining chain owned and operated by Florida-based Darden Restaurants Inc. The company owns Olive Garden and Yard House, among many others.
There are approximately 500 LongHorn Steakhouse locations across the nation, but only one in California (Rancho Cucamonga), according to the company.
The Nov. 17 Temecula Planning Commission meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall. See the full meeting agenda here.
