CAMP PENDLETON, CA – Residents in Southwest Riverside County may hear loud booming noises this week due to Camp Pendleton training exercises, according to a noise advisory.

Camp Pendleton officials announced they would be firing high explosive munitions between 6 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Monday through Wednesday into the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas. The Whiskey Impact Area is 7.3 miles from Fallbrook and 9.9 miles from Oceanside, while the Zulu Impact Area is 5 miles from Fallbrook and 6.6 miles from Oceanside.

Depending on atmospheric conditions, communities as far as 50 miles away from the impact areas may be able able to hear the explosions, according to the military base.
