Loud Noises Heard Throughout Temecula Valley From Camp Pendleton

Did YOU hear a loud "boom"? The Marine base warned of "noise generating events."

TEMECULA VALLEY, CA — Residents of Temecula and Murrieta were stunned Monday afternoon after a loud "boom" was heard throughout the region. The noise is believed to have originated from nearby Camp Pendleton as the base said they would be "firing high explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact area."

The Marine base said that noises could be heard from up to 50 miles away.

Murrieta police said residents can expect to hear the noises throughout the week.
