'Medical Emergency' At Temecula Walmart Ends In Death

Riverside County sheriff's officials say a man died following the incident.

TEMECULA, CA — A man who suffered a "medical emergency" outside the Temecula Walmart died following an emergency transport to the hospital, the sheriff's department reports. The nature of the emergency was not disclosed.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Robert Menchaca, police and paramedics were called to the Temecula Parkway store at 5:38 p.m. Monday.

"Officers found an elderly male adult suffering from medical issues inside his vehicle," Menchaca said in a news release. "Lifesaving procedures were administered by CalFire paramedics on scene."

The man, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. He later died.

Menchaca said no foul play is suspected, but asked that anyone with information related to the case to contact the Temecula Police Department at (951) 696-3000
