Motorcyclist ID'd In 79-South Crash Near Temecula: CHP

The 34-year-old Hemet man died where he crashed near Sage Road.

AGUANGA, CA — A motorcycle rider who was killed when he crashed in front of an Aguanga home on Sunday has been identified.

Desmond Palmer, a 34-year-old Hemet resident, died from his injuries after his motorcycle crashed around 4:30 p.m. near the 45100 block of Sage Road at Highway 79, according to reports from the California Highway Patrol and the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.

Palmer was riding a 2006 Honda CBR 1000 northbound on Sage Road just north of Tyler Street at a speed that CHP has not released as of this report.

According to CHP Officer Mike Lassig, Palmer made an unsafe "turning movement" which caused him to travel off the roadway.

Palmer flew from the bike as the motorcycle overturned "multiple times," according to CHP reports.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department came to render aid, but Palmer was pronounced dead at the scene.
