Motorist Killed In Rollover Crash On SR-74
The fatality occurred about 4:40 p.m. Monday, according to the CHP.
ANZA, CA — A motorist was killed late Monday afternoon in a solo-vehicle rollover crash on state Route 74 just east of Anza.
The fatality occurred about 4:40 p.m. on the eastbound side of the highway, near Palm Canyon Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The sedan overturned and ended up on the shoulder of the two-lane corridor, which traverses the lower half of the San Bernardino National Forest, between Anza and Palm Desert.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department personnel reached the location 20 minutes later and pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Identification on the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
A dog was the only other occupant in the vehicle; animal control was requested for the injured pet, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
