Murrieta Talks Trails Master Plan Meeting This Week: Residents Invited
Murrieta's 25 miles of hiking, walking and biking trails are under review at an interactive workshop meeting this week. Here's what to know.

MURRIETA, CA — If you love hiking and walking through the many miles of trails in Murrieta, this one is for you. The City of Murrieta asks residents to weigh in on the city's existing trail systems, according to their social media accounts. Workshops will take place this week to review the city's existing trails and research recommendations for future trail enhancements, a city spokesperson said.
On Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Alderwood Clubhouse at 28610 Baxter Road, Murrieta. The workshop will take place to review Murrieta's Trails Master Plan. The city hopes to have the master plan completed by September 2024.
Murrieta offers residents over 25 miles of trails for walkers, runners, bikers, and hikers to enjoy. During the Trails Master Plan project, local community needs will be reviewed, and recommendations will be provided to the city on ways to enhance and improve future offerings of the city to the residents and visitors.

"Critical to the development of any project is close coordination through information sharing with the community," the team shared on the website developed for this process. "City Staff and RJM will collect data through multiple surveys and in-person and online meetings." Feedback by the public is not only welcomed but encouraged, they said.

The city is hosting several Open Public Workshops this week relating to drafting Murrieta's first Trails Master Plan, they said. The first is planned for Thursday, followed by another on Mar. 28, and the final workshop is scheduled for Apr. 24.

Raffle prizes and refreshments will be provided during the event, they said.
