TEMECULA, CA — Temecula's Crowne Hill Elementary School playground will have a new inclusive playground for all students this week, the Temecula Valley Unified School District announced. A ribbon cutting for the new park, planned for Friday morning, will introduce the varied pieces of equipment. The hope is to encourage simultaneous play for children of all abilities at the school, according to TVUSD spokesperson James Evans.
The much-anticipated playground sat silent Thursday evening as school personnel anticipated the joy and festivities awaiting the school Friday morning.

A grant received by the district was put into place to purchase inclusive playground equipment for Crowne Hill Elementary School, according to TVUSD," TVUSD spokesperson James Evans said. "With the grant, we can welcome our moderate and severe special education students to play and interact inclusively with our general education students."

Starting Friday, students of all abilities can now swing and reach the structures as well as have better access to the playground. Artificial turf provides easy wheelchair access and tactile boards that both general and special education students can use simultaneously.

The playground offers adaptive swings, installed alongside our regular swings, allowing all students to interact and swing together.
