New Pizzeria Opens In Temecula

TEMECULA, CA — Pizza Guys, a pizzeria that serves up such unique pies as the Serrano Chili, the Impossible Beef Artichoke Pesto and the Curry Chicken Delight, opens its newest location this week on Temecula Parkway in Temecula, expanding its presence in the Inland Empire.

Sacramento-based Pizza Guys launched in 1986 by founders who endeavored to craft pizzas with East Coast flavors and fresh California ingredients, according to management. The business now operates more than 75 stores primarily in Northern California, including Riverside and San Bernardino counties locations in Corona, Rancho Cucamonga, Apple Valley and Victorville.

The menu offers specialty and create-your-own pizzas, with Tuscany-thin, thick or gluten-free crusts and such topping choices as cup-crisp pepperoni, grilled chicken, bacon, beef, spinach, pineapple, cilantro, onions, olives, Roma tomatoes, chopped garlic and basil.

Along with pizzas, the restaurant serves salads, flatbreads, wings, pastas, desserts and beverages. An array of dipping sauces include creamy pesto, marinara, ranch, chipotle and kogi, with such extras as anchovies and jalepenos.

The Temecula site is owned and operated Edward Phan, My Phan and Hung Ung, who said they also are planning to open a location in Murrieta in the next few years.

The trio began working at Pizza Guys during their high school years.

"I decided to pursue the Pizza Guys franchise since I started doing coupons for them in high school," Edward Phan said. "As I went through college, I carried on working at Pizza Guys, and now I am opening my own, and I couldn’t be more excited.”

"Our location is going to be interactive with the community and focus on consistently bringing the best food quality and service," he added. "Pizza Guys is what I have known my entire life, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I am thrilled to be opening this location with My and Hung.”

A freebie deal was held at the site Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., giving away free pizza cards.

The Temecula pizzeria, at 32389 Temecula Pkwy., will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays to Sundays. Follow this link for info, menu options and ordering.
