Earthquake Rattles Southwest Riverside County
A small quake rattled much of the county just after 1 a.m. Wednesday. Did YOU feel it?
ANZA, CA —An early morning earthquake rattled much of southwest Riverside County Wednesday, though not enough to wake residents.
The quake, measuring just under 3.0 magnitude, began at 1:14 a.m. and lasted nearly a minute, according to USGS reports. It was centered in the community of Anza, in the San Jacinto Mountains, at roughly 8 miles below the surface.
Residents from Palm Desert, Indio and Cathedral City reported feeling the quake. Others as far south as Encinitas and coastal San Diego County also reported feeling the shaking.

No one reported injuries or damage from the temblor.
This quake occurred just under 12 hours after a strong earthquake was felt across the Bay Area, measuring over 5.0 magnitude.
