Trio Of Earthquakes Reported Near Temecula
U.S.G.S. data shows three quakes struck the region on Thursday.

TEMECULA, CA — A trio of small earthquakes struck near the Temecula Valley on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.
The first quake struck at about 3:20 a.m. at a depth of about 6 miles, its epicenter about 26 miles east of Temecula, according to a computer-generated report from the agency. That temblor was initially reported as a magnitude 3.0, but was later downgraded to a 2.6.
The second earthquake struck at 5:56 a.m., according to the U.S.G.S. That one was located about 5 miles northeast of Aguanga and was centered at a depth of 1.7 miles.

The latest quake — and the largest of all — hit at 12:18 p.m., the agency reported. That one measured in at a 3.5 magnitude and was also centered about 5 miles northeast of Aguanga. It was located at a depth of 2.3 miles below the earth's surface.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries due to the quakes.
