21st Pechanga Pow Wow Coming To Temecula For Fireworks, Fun
The 21st Annual Pow Wow celebration kicks off with a fireworks spectacular Friday night. See the schedule for this must-do Temecula event.

TEMECULA, CA — Pechanga Resort Casino invites all to a free cultural experience at Pechanga Resort Casino, kicking off with a fireworks extravaganza at its annual Pow Wow event.
For the 21st year, the event begins at 5 p.m. Friday evening and runs through Sunday. It is a feast for the senses, organizers say, drawing participants and spectators from across North America to Pechanga. Held at the resort casino's Summit Events Center, both native culture and artistry take center stage and is free for all who attend.
NOTE: Guests of Pechanga Resort Casino and those in the community will be treated to a free fireworks display on Fri., January 5, beginning at 7 p.m.

In a recent news release, President of the Pechanga Development Corporation Ken Perez discussed the meaning behind the event.
“The Pechanga Pow Wow is a celebration of tribal culture and community from throughout the U.S. and Canada with tribal dance, music, and songs,” Perez said. “We welcome guests and participants of all ages, from those attending their first powwow to those who have attended countless. It is a remarkable gathering that hosts hundreds of tribes from across the U.S and Canada, each with unique styles of dance and song from their respective regions, and provides a platform for learning about Tribal traditions."

What to expect when you go:
"Filled with tribal singing, dancing, Native American food and artisan crafts, the Pechanga Pow Wow has historically been one of the largest in the entire western United States. The event is a free, interactive and educational cultural event for all ages. Non-native spectators can become part of the experience and join in the powwow’s round dances and social dances throughout the three-day weekend. On Friday, the Pechanga Band of Indians also puts on a free fireworks show rivaling any at the top amusement parks and sports stadiums. The pyrotechnics show will be set off from the Journey golf and will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, January 5. One of the best vantage points for viewing the fireworks show is from the food vendor area on the grassy field outside The Cove at Pechanga Resort Casino. "Pow wow guests can enjoy perusing the artisan jewelry and craft section of the event, filled with authentic Tribal creations perfect for gift or for one’s self. Then there’s the food. The Pechanga Pow Wow features more than a dozen food vendors cooking up everything from fluffy, doughy fry bread and Indian tacos to buffalo burgers and tamales.
"Bleacher-style seating is available for the public to watch dancing and other events that happen inside the Pow Wow arena. Valet parking is available for a fee. Complimentary self-parking is also available throughout the Pechanga Resort Casino grounds.
