Ralph Love Plein Air Competition Coming Up
Plein Air artists are invited to paint at six different locations around the City of Temecula

From The City of Temecula: Local artists are invited to participate in the City of Temecula’s 11th Annual Ralph Love Plein Air Competition from Saturday, September 29 through Friday, October 5, 2018.
Plein Air artists are invited to paint at six different locations around the City of Temecula during the competition. Canvas submissions must be stamped from Saturday, September 29 through Thursday, October 4, 2018 in order to qualify for judging. Stamps for canvas submissions are available inside the Temecula Valley Museum from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm (closed on Mondays).
Contest locations are as follows:
Temecula Civic Center Quad: 4100 Main Street
Wine Country: Artist’s Choice of Winery
Rose Haven Heritage Garden: 30592 Jedediah Smith Road
Historic Old Town Temecula: Artist’s Choice of Historic Site
Temecula Duck Pond: 28250 Ynez Road
Dorland Mountain Arts Colony: 36701 CA-79

All entries will be on display in The Gallery at The Merc from Wednesday, October 31 through Sunday, December 30, 2018. The public is invited to attend an artist reception held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in The Gallery at The Merc where the competition winners will be announced. This year’s awards will include: Best of Show / City Purchase Award ($500); 1st Place ($200); 2 nd Place ($100); 3 rd Place ($50); Best depiction of a Sunrise/ Sunset ($50); and People’s Choice (Gift Basket).
