TEMECULA, CA — This weekend is bringing cool fall temperatures (real sweatshirt weather!) to Southern California and hope of calmer times ahead — especially where fires are concerned.

On Aug. 2, Diane Trimble sent this amazing photo to Patch of smoke from Cherry Valley's Apple Fire billowing in the background of Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula. If ever an image captured beauty and the beast, this is it.

The photo is also a reminder of our turbulent summer — now in the rear view mirror — and our fall resilience moving forward.
