Registered Sex Offender Accused Of 2 Sexual Assaults In Temecula

TEMECULA, CA — A registered sex offender was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a juvenile and an adult in separate incidents in Temecula, authorities said.

Deputies responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a juvenile at 5:21 p.m. Friday in the 40000 block of Winchester Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

During the course of the investigation, deputies learned that the suspect, identified as Jacob Paulsen, a 30-year-old resident of Perris, had also sexually assaulted an adult during a separate incident that happened less than two hours prior at a business in the 20000 block of Ynez Road, according to the department.

Deputies also determined Paulsen was an active sex registrant and on parole for sexual assault.

Paulsen was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor, sexual battery, indecent exposure and violation of parole. His bail was set at $500,000.

Sheriff's officials said there may be additional victims of similar crimes involving Paulsen.
