About half of $10.7 million project cost will be funded by developer fees, while the remainder will be covered by Measure S funding, according to city documents. In 2016, Temecula voters approved the ballot measure that imposed a 1% sales tax hike to fund general city services.

Among other things, the Community Recreation Center is designed to be "a safe, engaging place for teens to participate in individual and group social, recreational, physical, and educational activities," according to city documents.

The Community Recreation Center remains open. Get more information about the facility here.
