RivCo Reports Rise in COVID Hospitalizations, 12 Deaths
The number of people hospitalized with coronavirus in Riverside County has risen, according to the Riverside University Health System.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA -- The number of people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Riverside County rose, according to the latest data, while another 12 virus-related deaths were reported, according to data released Wednesday by the Riverside University Health System.
The numbers showed COVID-related hospitalizations countywide were at 380, up 11 from Tuesday. That number includes 104 intensive care patients, down two from Tuesday.
A total of 4,985 deaths from virus-related complications have been recorded in the past 18 months. The fatalities are trailing indicators because of delays processing death certificates and can go back weeks, according to health officials.

On Wednesday, 544 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed, lifting the county's overall number since the pandemic began to 353,364.
The number of known active virus cases in the county Wednesday was 5,323, down 368 from Tuesday. The active count is derived by subtracting deaths and recoveries from the current total -- 353,364 -- according to the county Executive Office.

Verified patient recoveries countywide were 343,056.
